Before becoming a full-time employee with Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, I was a volunteer. My first taste of the Girls Inc. experience was our program Lunch Bunch. As a young woman with professional work experience, I wanted to share my life experiences with others to inspire them to be all that they can be. And Lunch Bunch was a small way for me to make a long-lasting impact on young girls trying to figure out what they would like to be when they grew up.

Today as the volunteer partnership coordinator for Girls Inc., I get to recruit, engage and manage a diverse number of women wanting to also make a difference in the lives of girls. As Lunch Bunch career mentors, these women are motivating, encouraging and inspiring young girls to reach for the stars. We utilize groups of volunteers from local companies and organizations, such as the NCAA®, the Women of WellPoint, the American Association of Blacks in Energy, and the Indiana University School of Medicine, just to name a few. From engineers to lawyers to student doctors, these women are able to answer the most pressing career questions on the minds of girls, such as how long did you go to school? What skills/talents do you use in your job? Will I make a lot of money?
Lunch Bunch is a great opportunity for strong, smart, and bold women to give back in a special way. Learn more about having your group participate in a Lunch Bunch by contacting me at 317.522.2610.
