I’m thrilled to welcome Elizabeth (Liz) Standiford to the Girls Inc. development team! Liz joins us as the Development and Donor Relations Manager and will focus on grant writing and reporting, annual fund solicitations, and developing innovative ways to introduce new donors to Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis. 

Liz joins us from the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and has worked with Indiana Partnership for Young Writers and Horizon House.  This will be Liz’s second tour of duty with Girls Inc.  But a lot has changed since she was an intern at our Fountain Square club. 

Meet Liz!

She’s strong because: She’s a runner. As someone who found her inner athlete a little later in life, one of her proudest moments was completing her first 5K in 2009. Liz says, “I feel empowered when I run and like I can do anything. I also value being a positive example for my kids.”

She’s smart because: She’s a life-long learner. One of her favorite intellectual endeavors at the moment is also fun. She belongs to a book group called the Indianapolis Ladies of Leisure, who are a formidable group of women seeking to revive the art of leisure in modern life. “We read, talk, eat, and enjoy otherwise each others’ company,” says Liz. “I learn a lot from these smart, funny, opinionated ladies and they encourage me to be bold.”

She’s bold because: She’s always seeking out new life challenges. “Whenever I feel myself getting complacent, I know it is time to do something just a little bit intimidating or outside my normal comfort zone. I am excited to take on my new professional challenge at Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis.”
