This afternoon, Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis received a 2011 Indiana Achievement Award in recognition of our exemplary practices, effectiveness, and leadership. We are thrilled to receive the award for a second time, following our first IAA award in 2008. The IAA winners were announced during the Indiana Nonprofit Capacity Building Conference at the IUPUI Solution Center. “It is such an honor for Girls Inc. to receive this prestigious award a second time,” said Patricia Wachtel, president and CEO. “This is an affirmation that Girls Inc. and our many program partners, volunteers, and supporters are on the right track in our quest to serve more greater Indianapolis girls.”
“As Girls Inc. Board Chair, I accept this award on behalf of the hundreds of caring adults who helped us make our vision of serving more greater Indianapolis girls a reality,” said Peter Lacy at the award luncheon. “We are grateful to everyone who helped us advance our work with girls – and also to the IUPUI Solution Center and the supporters of Indiana Achievement Awards for this tremendous honor.”
