Adrianne Slash Joins Girls Inc.!
Abri Hochstetler, AmeriCorpsVISTA PR Specialist

Adrianne Slash, program support coordinatorGirls Inc. welcomed Adrianne Slash on October 18 as our new program support coordinator. Adrianne jumped into her role at Girls Inc. mid-program cycle by visiting partner sites, meeting volunteer program facilitators, and learning Girls Inc. curriculum. She’s even co-facilitated a program her first week! Earlier this month we highlighted our program support coordinators, Jessica and Sarah, so now we are proud to introduce Adrianne!

What areas of greater Indianapolis do you serve? Pike Township, Wayne Township, Decatur Township, Southwest, West Downtown

How long have you been at Girls Inc.? 9 days

What drew you to Girls Inc.? I have a strong passion for community and dedication to empowering girls. I have been working in this community since I was about 10 years old. I have been exposed to many of the direct service needs of the Greater Indianapolis community and am very driven by working for this community.  The idea of inspiring girls to be strong, smart, and bold all day, every day is amazing to me and is very alluring to me. Girls Inc. is meeting a community need and I am glad to be a part of it.

Favorite Girls Inc. moment: On my second day at Girls Inc. I received word that one of my volunteers would not be able to attend her session for the day and that I would need to stand in. I, being new to the organization, jumped in- like a first time volunteer to co-facilitate a Media and Me session for 6-8 year old girls. Just seeing how excited the girls are to see their volunteers and to learn was enough to get me hooked.
