Patricia Wachtel, President & CEO

Patricia Wachtel is president and CEO of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis. Since 2007, Pat has led the organization through a transition from a club-based operation to a collaborative outreach model of program delivery that has dramatically increased its services to girls. In 2011, Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis celebrated another year of service growth with over 6,000 program registrations for area girls. Under Pat’s leadership Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis has been honored twice—in 2008 and in 2011— with Indiana Achievement Awards for nonprofit efficiency and effectiveness.
 
Pat previously had a 28-year career in commercial banking and corporate philanthropy. Prior to joining Girls Inc., she served 11 years as vice president of community and corporate relations for Irwin Mortgage Corporation and one year as interim president of Indiana Landmarks.

Pat is currently the chair of the Agency Executive Council of United Way of Central Indiana, and she is an ex officio member of the United Way board of directors. In 2011, Pat was one of Indianapolis Business Journal’s Women of Influence Award winners.  She also was honored by the Indiana Commission for Women in 2009 with a Torchbearer Award. Pat has always been an active community volunteer, having chaired the boards of Indiana Landmarks, Dayspring Center, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation. She also is a past member of the Indiana Grantmaker’s Alliance board, and the Mayor’s Charter School Advisory board.

Pat holds a B. S. in Business Administration from Butler University and an M.B.A. from Indiana University.
